The lodge had an amazing Gallo pinto breakfast, with the best we've had in Costa Rica. the host, Francisco, provided excellent recommendations for hiking and adventure tours. the location in the rainforest was perfect, and the lodge itself was clean, tastefully designed, and had comfortable beds and bathrooms. the staff were friendly and helpful, and there were beautiful trails around the property. Complimentary toiletries and books/games in the main lodge were a nice touch. a wonderful experience with great amenities for families.
Felt great, no complaints.

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The hotel lobby had a stunning view and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved the fact that the hotel was situated in a quiet environment, surrounded by nature. It was so peaceful and all we could hear were the sounds of the birds and wildlife. The breakfast was delicious, and we especially enjoyed trying the seasonal fruit called "granadilla" for the first time. Another advantage was that even though the hotel was not in the town center, it was still close enough to walk to Santa Elena within 15 to 20 minutes, or take a very affordable taxi.
While our room was clean, it was a bit smaller than expected. We also encountered some bugs at night and had to keep them out.

The location of the lodge is ideal for nature lovers, with stunning views of the jungle canopy from the comfortable and clean rooms. The staff is helpful and attentive, and ordering in food was not a problem. The breakfast served in the outside area allows guests to watch birds while enjoying their meal. Additionally, the lodge offers a nice trail around the grounds for guests to explore.
The only downside is that the on-site restaurant is not open in the evenings.

We had a fantastic stay at this lodge! The location was perfect, nestled in the rainforest but still close to downtown. The staff were friendly and provided excellent recommendations for hiking and adventure tours. The breakfast was the best we've had in Costa Rica, especially the Gallo pinto. Can't think of anything.

We had a wonderful stay at this hidden oasis in the cloud forest. The location was perfect, with easy access to the national park and all the amenities we needed. Our room was spacious and had a stunning view of the surrounding forest. We loved waking up to the sound of birds and enjoyed watching them from the deck off our room. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. The owners even had bird feeders outside the dining area, which attracted beautiful species like the motmots. The service was fantastic, with attentive and helpful staff. we had a brilliant time at Cala Lodge and would highly recommend it.

We stayed in a cozy lodge nestled in the mountains, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding forest and wildlife. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and a lovely balcony to enjoy the scenery. The staff was friendly and provided helpful information about the area. We enjoyed a delicious cooked-to-order breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade jam. The lodge also offered tea and coffee in the afternoon, adding a nice touch to our stay.
The thin walls allowed us to hear conversations and footsteps from neighboring rooms, which was a bit inconvenient at times.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and basic cooking facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with information about the area and things to do.- The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance to the main town and surrounded by beautiful vegetation.
The gravel lanes leading to the hotel were rough and hard to navigate. While the lodging was adequate and affordable, it lacked some amenities and convenience.
